The MARS Fire Hydrant Stress Reliever, removes all of the side load from the hydrant and places the weight on the ground. When a backflow preventor is added directly to the hydrant, the Fire Hydrant Stress Reliever adds support by extending to the ground. Hydrant meters and backflow preventors that are mounted directly to fire hydrants, without support can add more than 100 pounds of weight and down force to the hydrant connector. This is far beyond the design limits and can cause severe damage to the hydrant. Available in 2 inch and standard 2-1/2 inch size with the centerline length of 24 inches. Also available with 3 inch hose connection on request. Materials: Rigid type K copper with long sweeep elbows and bronze threaded fire hose fittings, including a polymer thread protector cap with chain.

Pressure tested to 300 psi. Reduces turbulence for greater meter accurancy and reduced meter damage.
