MARS Test Spool Assemblies

Time-consuming connections on replacement turbines or compound meters are a thing of the past!

Let's face it. Line length on new turbines and compounds are a lot shorter than those old clunkers. Until now, utilities have had to add strainers and spools to make up the difference. More often than not, even this didn't solve the connection problem, forcing installers to resort to makeshift solutions.

Fortunately, that's past history now. Our new adjustable Test Spool Assembly solves installation problems in half the time, without stress or strain at the connection. But that's not all. A built-in bronze pipe and valve make meter testing as easy as "1-2-3"

Installed downstream of the new turbine or compound meter, this new Test Spool Assembly is easily customized to the exact length you need, simply by cutting off any excess length, or ordering custom lengths from MARS. Connect the permanent flanged end, then slide the adjustable UNI-DAP Universal Flanged Adapter fits any sized pipe from PVC through pit cast iron without changing gaskets. The built-in rubber sealing ring gives you a watertight connection. The Test Spool Assembly and meter can be removed just as easily.

Want to test the meter? Simply unscrew the 2" tap plug on the bronze pipe extending into the pit and connect a test assembly, like the field portable MUN-3 Utility Service Analyzer, also from MARS.

The MARS Test Spool Assembly is fusion nylon coated at 450°F for years of corrosion-resistant service. Sizes 2" to 6" feature a single bronze outlet pipe and valve from the top of the assembly to the pit; 8", 10", and 12" models feature dual outlet pipes and valves located on each side ot the assembly, with elbow fittings leading upward.
