Field testing residential water meters is as easy as 1-2-3...

...with the unique MUN-1 Utility Service Analyzer!

The MUN-1 is a precision microprocessor- based test instrument designed to:
  • Verify residential water meter accuracy to within .5% by merely connecting the instrument to the customer's hose line.
  • Check both static and flow pressure at the customer's residence.
  • Measure actual flow rate to within 1/10 GPM. If any blockage exists, this data will indicate which side of the meter the problem is on.
  • Serve as a rate of flow indicator, line pressure gauge and comparison tester for small meter shops not equipped with a full test bench and calibrated tanks.
In operation, pulse signals generated by the turbine flow sensors are magnetically transmitted to the microprocessor, then computed into U.S. Gallons, Cubic Feet, or Liters and shown on an easily read LCD display. Power is provided by two extra long life (10 years of normal service) lithium power cells which automatically power down when the MUN-1 is not in use.

Although the MUN-1 was designed primarily as a field test instrument for resolving customer complaints, a number of water utilities are using the MUN-1 to test all of their meters in service as the most efficient and economical means of checking accuracies and recouping lost revenue from faulty meters.
