He invented, patented, developed, and manufactured cutting edge products for the municipal waterworks industry.
In 1984, Mr. Salser established MARS Company, an acronym for Meters and Related Services. Its mission was to manufacture Water Meter Testing Equipment and Automated Meter Reading Systems (AMR/AMI) for meter manufacturers and water agencies, in addition to producing other water industry-related products.
Prior to MARS, Mr. Salser served as Executive Vice President and Manager of Operations of the Kent Meter Factory in Ocala for 10 years. He entered the waterworks industry in 1966 as a Construction Manager, building water and wastewater plants throughout Florida.
Mr. Salser has served as an expert witness in Court on more than 25 occasions in the U.S. and Canada, on legal matters involving water meter designs, water-related disputes, installation and application.
He is a Life Member the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Meter Standards Committee, having joined them in 1974 as a Producer Member. Throughout his 40+ years with AWWA, he has served as Chairman, Vice Chairman or Committee Member. Additionally, he is the current and past Chairman of the M6 Committee.
In 2006, Mr. Salser was awarded the prestigious AWWA George Anderson Award of Excellence, which acknowledged his lifetime achievements, unselfish contributions, and promotion of high ethical standards in the science of Water Meter Development.
